What are your opening hours?
Mother India Fremantle is open Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 5:00 PM to 8:30 PM for takeaway pickup, local direct delivery, and casual self-serve outdoor alfresco on Forrest Street. We are closed Monday through Thursday.
Can we eat at the restaurant, or do we need to book a table?
Our indoor dining room has closed and transitioned to casual outdoor alfresco tables under the string lights on Forrest Street (BYO is welcome — walk in, or book an outdoor table): (1) walk in, or book an outdoor table, (2) scan the QR code on your table or order at the counter, and (3) pay at the counter, or our staff bring the EFTPOS machine to your table before or while food is served — there is no payment through the QR code.
What are your 100% additive-free, gluten-free, and Halal dietary standards?
Every curry at Mother India Fremantle is 100% additive-free—cooked from scratch using whole spices roasted and ground in-house daily, with zero artificial food dyes, gums, flour thickeners, or MSG. Because we never thicken our gravies with wheat flour, the vast majority of our curries and tandoori dishes are naturally gluten-free, and all chicken served at our kitchen is 100% Halal.
Is your chicken Halal?
Yes. All chicken served at Mother India Fremantle is 100% Halal. If you have questions about other meats, please ask our staff when you order.
Can we bring our own wine (BYO)?
Yes, BYO wine and beer are welcome at our casual outdoor alfresco tables on Forrest Street.
What is your delivery area, fees, and minimum order?
We deliver up to 7 km from 23 Forrest Street, Fremantle ($50 minimum order; delivery usually takes 45 minutes to 1 hour, longer during busy times) across three distance tiers: 0 to 3 km ($10.00 delivery fee) covering Fremantle, East Fremantle, South Fremantle, White Gum Valley, Beaconsfield, and the Monument Hill / Arts Centre precinct; 3 to 5 km ($12.00 delivery fee) covering North Fremantle, Hilton, O'Connor, Bicton, Palmyra, and Hamilton Hill; and 5 to 7 km ($15.00 delivery fee) covering Mosman Park, Attadale, Melville, Spearwood, Coogee, and Samson.
How long do takeaway orders take, and why should I order directly through your website?
Takeaway pickup orders are usually ready in about 25 minutes under normal circumstances — and if we run late, we include a complimentary item with your order (this promise applies to takeaway pickup only; home delivery usually takes 45 minutes to 1 hour, longer during busy times). Ordering direct at order.motherindiafremantle.com.au also avoids third-party delivery app markups and service fees, saving up to 30% compared with UberEats and DoorDash (for example, Authentic Butter Chicken is $21.00 direct vs. $26.50 on delivery apps).
Is there parking available nearby?
Yes. There is free street parking on Forrest Street, right outside our corner kitchen.
Can I order during the week for the weekend?
Yes. SMS your pre-order to 0497 888 180 at any time, Monday to Sunday, and we will have it ready for collection or delivery on Friday, Saturday or Sunday evening.
What are the Weekend Value Packs?
Our Weekend Value Packs are complete feasts for two ($55), three ($80) or four ($100) people. Each pack includes your choice of curries plus Mother India Dhal, Basmati Rice, Fresh Naan, Cucumber Raita and Pappadam, with optional curry upgrades (such as Butter Chicken +$2 or Lamb +$3) and starter packs.
Do you have vegetarian and vegan dishes?
Yes. Dishes such as Mother India Dhal, Mixed Vegetables and Madras Potato are 100% dairy-free vegan and coeliac-safe gluten-free from $18, and our paneer dishes are vegetarian. Let us know about any dietary needs when ordering.
